A4K
More than 1/3 of Canadian children cannot participate in sports or recreational activities due to financial barriers. A4K is working to change this throughout British Columbia, because in a positive environment of teamwork, competition and shared dreams, anything is possible.
KidSport
KidSport is a national not-for-profit helping kids 18 and under with registration fees and equipment. Through a confidential application process, we provide grants so they can play a season of sport. Since 1993, over 530,000 kids have benefited from KidSport programs, supported by 11 provincial/territorial and 178 community chapters nationwide.
Canadian Tire Jumpstart
Jumpstart is a national charity committed to local communities. Organized sports connect kids to their communities, and Canadian Tire ensures donations stay local. As Jumpstart’s largest supporter, Canadian Tire covers all administrative costs, so 100% of customer donations go directly to kids in need.
Pucks
Promoting Community through Kids in Sport Program (PuCKS) is a registered charity that “Keeps kids in school using Sports as the Tool.” PuCKS helps kids stay and succeed in school by offering team sports and ‘big-buddy’ mentorship with university students and athletes. It supports marginalized kids ages 8–18 who are financially in need or newly settled in Canada through a 10-month program of: a) Team Sports (soccer, hockey, and more) and b) Lit-Fit (after-school literacy and homework club).
Lace Em Up
Our program helps financially disadvantaged children play hockey by providing equal access to the game. Lace ‘Em Up funding often starts where other funding ends. Applications open June 1 and close August 15, 2019, on a first-come, first-served basis. A 2019/20 Season Registration Invoice from TeamSnap is required.
Funds are paid directly to your Minor Hockey Association, which will cover outstanding fees and coordinate any additional support.
